"Applying laudable craftsmanship, Susan Stanford floods her work with colour and texture. The poems in this collection are rich with nature, their vivid imagery frequently drawn from both the natural and the human world. Her acute perception of small, everyday dramas invites me to appreciate moments that I have often experienced myself without recognizing their significance. The universal appeal of her poems will have readers dipping into The Neon City again and again."
