Pym Schaare was born in Smargendorf, Berlin, and migrated to Australia as a young child. Pym's earlier interest in the dramatic arts has been lately turned to writing and performing poetry.
Her recent completion of a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics has led to an exploration of the dynamics of language. The expression of social issues through the poetic form emerged as a way of exploring issues close to her heart.

pym schaare's Since Then traces the poet's personal journey, from frightened child in a strange country to confused young woman to self possessed adult. The poems represented a shaking off of the psychic shackles of inherited personality, and a deep engagement with the restorative power of the natural world. A powerful, honest and ultimately life affirming first collection.
