sky stained red
again
which way didn't you come

in the hour when
blue spine of the hills
meets the red
of the sunset
i wish i still loved you

when i
walked into
the pull of
your liquid eyes of
the seduction of
your voice
the other paths were
(if not for ever
at least temporarily)
closed

now cut loose
adrift
i brush off cobwebs
from old paths and
scan environment
for chances
and prospects

and only now and then
i stop startled
hearing your voice
in other men's
vowels
